Terms of service
Last updated 18 October 2026
These terms cover your use of the VodLabs service, which VodLabs Recorder connects to in order to know when streamers go live. The service is run by VODLABS LLC ("VodLabs", "we"). By using the recorder with the service, you agree to these terms.
The recorder's source code has its own license, the PolyForm Noncommercial License 1.0.0. These terms don't change it.
Age requirement
You must be at least 18 to use VodLabs Recorder, VodLabs accounts, or any other VodLabs software or service. By using them, you confirm that you are.
The free plan
The service is free. In return, your recorder runs some live checks for streamers other users follow, from your IP address, as our privacy policy describes. You agree not to turn shared checks off or work around them. The service refuses recorders that do.
Using the service
You agree to:
- use the service lawfully, and only to record broadcasts you are allowed to record;
- follow the terms of the platforms you record from, and respect the rights of the creators whose broadcasts you record;
- not overload, disrupt or probe the service, for example by sending floods of requests or adding streamers by script;
- not get around its limits, such as by running many client identities to exceed them;
- not use it to collect data about other users.
You are responsible for what you record and how you use or share it.
Your platform accounts
If you sign the recorder in to a platform, the login stays on your computer. Using your account this way is between you and that platform, under its terms.
Availability and changes
We work to keep the service running, but we don't promise it will be available at any given time, or that it will notice every broadcast. We may change the service, including which platforms it supports, limit how much one client or address can use it, or stop serving old versions of the recorder. We may suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these terms.
No warranty
The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. A missed or incomplete recording is a risk of using it.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, VodLabs is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost recordings or data. Our total liability for anything related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim, which on the free plan is nothing.
Ending
You can stop using the service at any time. These terms then end for you, except the sections on warranty and liability.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and say so in the app or on this site when a change is significant. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.
